We're already at Week 8 of the 2026 NFL Season, which means a couple of things - we're making our way into November, and the NFL Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching. The Indianapolis Colts have definitely gotten us started with some deadline moves, and with November here, the playoff races are going to begin to come into view.
The weather is going to get colder, and each game is going to mean that much more. For this week, it's the normal slate of three primetime games, and one of them is certainly not must-see TV, unfortunately.
As we have done each week thus far, let's predict the winners for the three primetime games.
Picking and predicting the winners for Week 8's primetime games
Thursday, October 29th
Carolina Panthers @ Green Bay Packers
Both Green Bay and Carolina are coming off Week 7 losses and surely wanting to get back on the right track. After two wins in a row, the Panthers fell flat on their face and got blown out at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And while the Packers also lost, they had a much 'better' loss, losing to the Lions in Detroit. Both teams are banged up, but the Packers bring in the obvious quarterback and coaching advantage.
The homefield advantage is also very obvious. I am just now sure the Panthers have enough 'oomf' here to get the win. Sure, the offense has been fun at times, but the Panthers just feel like and have felt like a very average football team.
The Packers are going to get the win here, get to 5-3 on the season, and make the NFC North that much more of a mess. The Panthers fall to 3-4 in our predictions, but would still be in a good position in the NFC South given how bad that division is.
Packers win in a high-scoring affair by double-digits.
