It was quite the Week 7 in the NFL. Both the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs lost their first game of the season, while the Miami Dolphins picked up their first victory of 2026.

As for last week’s choices, not bad at all. The Atlanta Falcons did indeed knock the Niners from the ranks of the undefeated, while the Detroit Lions not only edged the Green Bay Packers but held them to fewer than points. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans nearly upset the Cleveland Browns, with the latter prevailing on the final play of the game.

The following three selections include a pair of upset wins, while the other features a statistical oddity when it comes to this season.

Here are 3 bold predictions for NFL Week 8

Browns sweep Steelers for first time since 1988

The Cleveland Browns are certainly one of the surprise teams of this season. Since being taken apart by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, Todd Monken’s club owns a 5-1 mark, with each game decided by five points or less. This week’s opponent is the rival Pittsburgh Steelers, who own a whopping 74-35 edge (including playoffs) in this series since the 1970 merger.

Four weeks ago on a Thursday night at Cleveland, the Browns came away with a 27-24 victory. Mike McCarthy’s team has won three straight and is perfect at home this season (3-0), but Cleveland’s offense has playmakers that will frustrate Pittsburgh’s erratic defense.

Rams edge Chargers in turnover-free game at SoFi Stadium

A year ago, both Sean McVay’s club and Jim Harbaugh’s team reached the playoffs via the wild card route. This season, the 0-6 Chargers have already lost as many games as they did in 2025 and the 3-4 Rams are one setback away from doing the same. They clash this Sunday at both teams’ home stadium, where the Bolts are 0-3 and McVay’s squad is 1-2.

A big problem for both clubs has been mistakes. The Chargers lead the league with 15 turnovers (in 6 games) and the Rams have given up the pigskin 11 times in their seven outings. McVay’s team is expected to win, but both disappointing clubs hang onto the ball this Sunday.

Broncos hand first-place Chiefs second consecutive loss

Last Sunday night at Lumen Field, it was a long evening for Kenneth Walker III and the Kansas City Chiefs. The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks held the then-NFL’s leading rusher to 36 yards and Reid’s offense to 213 total yards in a 20-3 win—Kansas City’s first loss of 2026. Now the AFC West leaders head to Denver for a rematch with Sean Payton’s team.

In the season’s first Monday night game, the Chiefs pushed around the Broncos, 31-10. This Sunday, Denver adds to its takeaway total of 10 with a couple of Patrick Mahomes’ interceptions, one of those a pick six, and the Broncos exact some revenge.
