The AFC, like the NFC, appears to be wide open this year, but what stands out in the AFC is the sheer number of quarterbacks who are right in the middle of their prime and still on the younger side. The conference is very clearly in good hands for the future, but that does make for a wild present.

With Week 8 approaching, we're now getting into November. The weather is getting colder, and the NFL Trade Deadline is getting nearer. The 2026 season is only going to get more chaotic as well, and that is already reflected in our latest AFC Power Rankings.

Let's dive into our AFC rankings - we use the same criteria as our league-wide rankings, but we're simply doing it by conference here.

Updated AFC Power Rankings show that the fun has only just begun in 2026

16. Los Angeles Chargers, 0-6

The lone winless team in the NFL, the Los Angeles Chargers come in at No. 6 in our power rankings and were on the bye in Week 7. Between the overrated roster, mounting injuries, and coaching hire gone wrong, the Chargers are a total mess and might need to have everyone on the hot seat from now until the rest of the season.

15. Tennessee Titans, 1-5

One of the more underwhelming teams in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans are 1-5 on the season and just aren't getting much of anything from quarterback Cam Ward in year two, or head coach Robert Saleh. The Titans might be rapidly approaching sell mode at the deadline, and I am not sure this current coaching regime or QB even survive into the 2027 season.

14. Indianapolis Colts, 2-5

Speaking of underwhelming, the Indianapolis Colts are 2-5 on the season, recently fired General Manager Chris Ballard, and have gone backwards since that insane 7-1 start back in 2025. The Colts could be as logical a team as any to sell at the deadline and build for the future, as this team is going nowhere and are just a flat-out mediocre, bad team across the board.

13. Miami Dolphins, 1-5

The Miami Dolphins ran for 156 yards in their win over the New York Jets. It's clear that the Dolphins play tough an inspired football, but it's going to continue to be difficult to win games, as the roster talent just is not there, and as we all know, the Dolphins were entering this year in a full-on rebuild, so it's really not much of a shock that they're 1-5.
