Maybe I am reading this totally wrong, but the 2027 NFL Draft has the potential to have both a ton of quality quarterback prospects, but a ton of disappointing ones. This coming class seems to teeter back and forth between being a deep class and an underwhelming class.

What does appear to be obvious is that there could be a rather large quantity of first or near-first round-caliber QB prospects available, and with QB play across the league almost always in high demand, these front offices are going to take some swings that might come off as unpopular.

Now that we're approaching the middle of October, both college and the NFL are getting well underway. Let's dive into our latest 2027 NFL mock draft. This one is one round long and features some rather bold QB trades. We'll use PFN's Mock Draft simulator for the draft order here.

Updated 2027 NFL Mock Draft features a ton of QB chaos

1. Houston Texans - Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

You never want to just toss the 'generational' label around, but Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith might be that good. He checks quite literally every single box you'd want at the position, and while Houston having the first overall pick would have us wondering about the future with CJ Stroud, he's absolutely proven to be talented enough to lead the franchise.

2. Tennessee Titans - Arch Manning, QB, Texas

Maybe this is too high for Arch Manning, but between the name pedigree, the physical makeup, and the ceiling, it might be hard for the Tennessee Titans to pass on Arch Manning. As we get closer to the real draft, some may believe that Manning simply isn't good enough to be taken this high, but it'd have to be considered if the Titans are picking second overall.
