When it comes to the quarterback position, NFL teams are always looking.
The Tennessee Titans have their QB of the future in place with 2025 #1 overall pick Cam Ward. They have a backup in Mitchell Trubisky who has a lot of NFL experience. Keeping former 2nd-round pick and starter Will Levis simply didn't make sense anymore under a new regime.
Levis was waived by the Titans at roster cuts, and will now be subject to the waiver wire with a salary cap hit of just over $3 million this season. It's possible he goes through waivers unclaimed and hits free agency, but regardless of how, there are a number of teams that could make a lot of sense to bring him onto their roster and give him a shot at redemption in 2026.
Even if one NFL team is willing to move on, 31 others might not be willing to "quit" a guy with Levis's level of arm talent and athleticism. Let's look at 3 teams we could see taking a shot on that talent in 2026.
3 teams that could make sense for Will Levis after getting cut by the Titans
1. Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have completely revamped their quarterback room this offseason. They not only moved on from Tua Tagovailoa, but they are giving Malik Willis a real shot to be the leader of an NFL franchise.
More recently, they traded for Kyle McCord, who did a really good job this offseason with the Green Bay Packers. He's going to back up Malik Willis, but wouldn't it be ironic if the Dolphins now added Will Levis as a third QB?
Willis was once the backup to Levis with the Titans, so this would bring that storyline full-circle.
Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan was in the Packers' front office when they struck the trade for Willis, so he saw firsthand just how valuable this type of reclamation project can be. With the Dolphins in evaluation mode, it can't hurt to have a talented player like Levis in the building.
2. Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones never saw a reclamation project he didn't like. Jones has been in the market for players like Levis heavily in recent years. Even just at the quarterback position, he's made moves to go after players like Trey Lance and Joe Milton in trades.
Even with Milton still on the roster, as well as Sam Howell, you have to think Jones would be interested in the idea of adding Levis to his stable of quarterbacks.
3. Green Bay Packers
If the Packers think they can possibly see lightning strike in the same place twice, then perhaps they'll take a chance on Will Levis.
It worked extremely well for Green Bay to trade for Malik Willis a number of years ago, so perhaps they would go to that well again. Levis and Willis are obviously not the same player, but the Packers did such a good job with Willis's development, maybe they would be confident they could do something similar for Levis.
Right now, Jordan Love's backup is veteran Tyrod Taylor. The Packers traded Kyle McCord to the Dolphins, so they might not even want a 3rd QB on their roster this season. But Levis has some longer-term backup upside, and could be someone they sign to a 2-year deal, showcase next year in the preseason, and trade for a decent draft pick.
