Could the Browns actually do it?

This could be a bit of a surprise, as the Los Angeles Chargers could offer up a total of four NFL Draft picks in return for Garrett. In this package, the Chargers trade their first three picks this year and a first-round pick next year in a hyper-aggressive offer.

For the Chargers and the fans, it's been a disappointing free agency thus far, if we're being honest. The Chargers went into the offseason with notable needs along the offensive line, and it doesn't feel like those needs were adequately filled given how much money this team had and still has to spend.

Quarterback Justin Herbert was taking a beating last year and was running for his life, so it's a bit odd that General Manager Joe Hortiz did not go out and get more aggressive here. However, something that is just as noteworthy is Jesse Minter leaving for the Baltimore Ravens' head coaching job.

Minter cemented himself as a top-3 defensive coordinator during his short stint with the Chargers, and that was their identity. With Minter gone, the defense could regress, but adding someone like Garrett on a defense that simply needs more talent would be an aggressive but worthwhile move.

There is also a broader factor at play here, and it's the AFC West. The Denver Broncos managed to win 14 games last year and won the division with some room to spare. The Broncos do, by far, have the best roster in the AFC West and may have the best roster in the conference. They've drafted and developed at a high level and have a young, stud quarterback, too.

Los Angeles surely think they could win the AFC West, but it's clear that this roster needs some type of major impact move for that to happen.

Adding Garrett would definitely be taking a huge risk, but that's what the NFL is all about.
