Three weeks into the 2026 NFL season and we have already seen some shocks. That includes a pair of playoff teams from a year ago still looking for their first victory of this season.
As for last week and this forum, it was a total stinker in terms of predictions. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell at home to the Vikings, and the Baltimore Ravens outlasted the Dallas Cowboys in Rio. And while the Broncos rallied to beat the Rams on Sunday night, that Denver running game that was supposed to get untracked managed on 78 yards on 25 carries.
So here we go again with three more surprises in mind.
Here are 3 bold predictions for NFL Week 4
Washington takes command of the Colts in London
Both Dan Quinn’s club and Shane Steichen’s team got their first win of the season last week, and both the Washington Commanders and Indianapolis Colts managed two-point victories. While the latter snapped a nine-game losing streak that dated back to last season with a 19-17 victory over the struggling Houston Texans, Quinn’s squad came up with the stunner of the season in knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, 33-31.
Both of these clubs are giving up their share of yards and points, so you would expect a high-scoring game. And some of that could come courtesy of the Washington defense, which will come up with a pick-six for the second straight week—this time at the expense of Colts’ quarterback Daniel Jones.
Jets’ defense the difference in surprise win at Soldier Field
The wait continues. Under head coach Aaron Glenn, the New York Jets own a 4-16 record dating back to last season. The team opened 2026 with a win at Tennessee, but have now dropped consecutive games to the Green Bay Packers (in overtime) and Detroit Lions. This week, they face an NFC North team once again in the defending division champion Chicago Bears.
Led by quarterback Case Keenum, Ben Johnson’s team comes off a convincing 27-7 Monday night victory over the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago’s offense rolled up 375 total yards and played turnover-free football. But don’t underestimate the Jets’ defense as only the Seahawks have allowed fewer total yards per game this season. And Glenn and Johnson used to work together in Detroit. Is this a trap game for the Bears with the rival Packers on the horizon?
Falcons’ running game has another huge outing in conquest of Saints
When Kevin Stefanski's team last took the field, his Atlanta Falcons got their first win of the season, and he received his first victory as the franchise’s newest head coach. Last Thursday night at Lambeau Field, Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards and a pair of scores, the Falcons finished with 242 yards on the ground, and the team stunned the Packers in prime time, 35-14.
Like the Falcons, the New Orleans Saints own a 1-2 record. Kellen Moore’s team has scored almost as many points (81) as it has allowed (83), and all three of their games have been decided by single digits. Second-year quarterback Tyler Shough has been impressive, and wideout Chris Olave is tied for the NFL lead with 27 receptions. But as good as the young signal-caller has been, he also has six of the club’s seven turnovers this season. Regardless, that Atlanta ground attack will prove to be a bit too much this Monday night in the Big Easy.
