Elsewhere, the Panthers did notch a 34-3 road win at Atlanta, but it certainly didn’t warrant overtime. Finally, the New Orleans Saints not only pushed the Baltimore Ravens, Kellen Moore’s club didn’t require OT to knock off Lamar Jackson and company.
So what’s in store for Week 3? There's already been one shocker courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons, who rocked the Green Bay Packers, 35-14, on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

Buccaneers solve Vikings’ defense just enough for a narrow win
This past season, Todd Bowles’s team slumped down the stretch, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers missed the playoffs for the first time since 2019. This season, the club has dropped its first two games for the first time since 2014. The Bucs are at home and take on the Minnesota Vikings, who have won seven straight games dating back to last season.
Quarterback Kyler Murray returns for Kevin O’Connell’s club, but the key to Minnesota’s 2-0 start has been a defense that has allowed two touchdowns in as many games. Baker Mayfield has one TD pass and four turnovers this season, but rights the ship in a low-scoring affair.
Cowboys outlast Ravens in Rio de Janeiro
Both teams split their first two games. The Ravens rolled the Colts at Indianapolis, then squandered a fourth-quarter lead in a home loss to the Saints. The Cowboys were pushed around in prime time by the Giants at MetLife Stadium and then rebounded at home vs. the Washington Commanders.
Baltimore is expected to get the victory here and running back Derrick Henry should have his way with Dallas’ shaky run defense. But Dak Prescott and his wideout tandem of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens could prove to be a bit too much for Jesse Minter’s defense. The loser of this interconference tilt will more than likely “Blame it on Rio.”
Broncos’ running game gets untracked against visiting Rams
Two games into the season, and both of the games by Sean McVay’s 1-1 team have not been close. The Rams were rolled by the 49ers in Australia, 27-7. This past Monday night, the Rams took advantage of a Giants’ team that lost quarterback Jaxson Dart early and rolled to a 28-6 win. Last Sunday, the Denver Broncos looked on the verge of dropping to 0-2, but scored 14 fourth-quarter points to cool off the Jaguars, 20-13.
Sean Payton’s team has run for just 165 yards in two games, but could exploit a Rams’ defense that was gashed in Australia in Week 1 for 174 rushing yards by a healthier Niners’ offense.
