Division Leaders
4. Carolina Panthers (3-4)
This is just not what you want to see. The Carolina Panthers have now lost two games in a row and still feel like the same team they were last year. Bryce Young has struggled in recent weeks, the injuries are mounting, and you just can't really fully buy into the Panthers right now, but the thing is, you also can't buy into any other team in the NFC South.
There is a non-zero chance that the NFC South winner again has a losing record - the Panthers won the division last year with an 8-9 record. I guess if you want to look at the bright side, Young has largely played well this year and appears to be on pace for a career-best season.
But Young might not even be the second-best QB in the division at this point. The second half of the season will understandably be huge for all four NFC South teams, as they're all in the mix.
3. New York Giants (4-2-1)
Another very bad, perhaps awful division, the NFC East currently features the 4-2-1 New York Giants leading the way. The Giants are now starting JJ McCarthy after trading for him earlier in the year. Jaxson Dart is likely going to be out the rest of the season.
I guess the Giants aren't a bad team, but I'm not sure they're a particularly good team, either. This franchise is still a year early before we can truly look at them as being a contending team. Dart is going to be their QB of the future, and I guess if you're the Giants, there isn't much of anything to lose, as the rest of the division flat-out stinks, so why not make a run for the title and a home playoff game?
