With the NFL trade deadline on November 10, it's not impossible to think that certain Week 9 matchups could determine whether or not teams become buyers or sellers.
And this week has some huge matchups on the docket, including a possible Super Bowl preview to close things out on Monday night.
We've already taken a look at the full slate of games in Week 9 action, but today, we're going to zoom in on the games that will have the most eyes on them: The games being played under the lights of primetime.
We have four games to break down this week with a bonus of an international game being played in Spain, and these games almost all have a lot at stake. Let's dive into our picks and score predictions for each.
NFL game picks and score predictions for every primetime matchup in Week 9
Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) @ Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
Thursday, November 5, 8:15 PM ET
This game has a dark cloud hanging over it in the form of Lamar Jackson's season-ending injury. And the radar shows another storm system behind with backup Tyler Huntley also suffering what is believed to be a season-ending injury.
There might be clear skies ahead at some point with the Ravens making a trade for Jacoby Brissett, but the long-term implications of Jackson's injury have definitely cast a disappointing shadow over this Ravens team.
That undoubtedly plays a factor in Thursday night's game, with the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to town and smelling blood in the water.
There is just absolutely no way Joe Fagnano is going to beat this Jaguars defense, or be able to keep up with the Jacksonville offense if it gets to a shootout.
Right?
I don't think there is much of an explanation needed here. The Ravens won't have Jacoby Brissett for this game, so seeing any fruit from that deal might have to wait until after the team is already 4-5. That deal proves they aren't just throwing in the towel on this season, but this game could get out of hand.
The Jaguars are just 9.5-point favorites, which is surprising given their dominance against the Colts last week and the Ravens' QB situation.
Prediction: Jaguars win 34-13
