NFL picks and score predictions, Week 7: Predictions for every primetime matchup
New England Patriots (4-2) @ Chicago Bears (4-2)
Thursday, October 22, 8:15 PM ET
The NFL world is getting an absolute treat on Thursday night with the Patriots traveling to Chicago to take on the Bears.
Drake Maye vs. Caleb Williams in a battle of two star quarterbacks from the 2024 NFL Draft class who are playing some really good football lately, albeit in smaller samples.
Maye was the runner-up for the league MVP award last season while Williams was basically named the face of the league when he got put on the cover of the Madden 27 video game. It's going to be fascinating to see how the NFL world reacts to this game.
The perception of Williams after his return to the field (hamstring injury) in Week 6 is that he is benefitting as a checkdown merchant. The perception of Maye is quite the opposite, because he attacks with the football down the field a lot more often. Regardless of the ADOT for either quarterback in this game, these guys are going to have to make some plays under the lights.
The Bears are 3-point favorites as kickoff looms, and this is really one of those matchups you can see swinging either way. Both offenses are capable of putting up tons of points. Both defenses are capable of shutting good offenses down and creating takeaways.
The Bears playing at home should give them an advantage.
Prediction: Bears win 27-24
