6. Keenan Allen moves up the top-10 receptions list
Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen is nearing a mark that will put him forever in the history books. With NINE receptions on Sunday, Allen will officially pass Anquan Boldin, with 1,076 catches, for the tenth most receptions in league history. With that being said, Allen is questionable for Week 5 with the groin injury he sustained last week, and nine catches is a lot anyway, meaning he is not going to be in a better position on this power ranking.
5. Mike Evans moves up the top-10 receiving touchdowns list
The San Francisco 49ers can make history in Week 5 if Mike Evans gets fed the football this week, like the team made a point of getting Kittle his record last weekend. That said, the number is different from last week’s history party for Evans. He will move up the all-time receiving touchdowns list, passing Tony Gonzalez, who is sitting at 111 such scores, if he hauls in a pair of touchdowns this weekend.
4. Philadelphia Eagles receptions record
Zach Ertz was the mid-season addition who was alluded to in the prelude. The all-time Philadelphia Eagles receptions leader at tight end joined the roster ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears and, while he has not looked like himself, is capable of removing the tight end moniker from his record-holding career as early as this weekend in London. With EIGHT catches against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Ertz will pass the legendary Harold Carmichael, who holds the record for most receptions in Eagles franchise history with 589, for the all-time mark.
While it seems unlikely, as Ertz has gone for a high of two receptions since returning to Philadelphia, there are some positive optics for the veteran tight end this week. The Eagles have been crushed by a wave of injuries to its pass catchers. This means that Ertz could be in line for a lot of targets against a Jaguars defense that has been good at everything except defending against the tight end position, as Mike Gesicki had a great day in Week 4.
