4. Arizona Cardinals - Sending Jacoby Brissett to the bench
It might be time to end the Jacoby Brissett era in Arizona. It has not worked out, but I am not sure anyone is really surprised. Brissett is absolutely a capable QB in terms of being viewed as a high-end backup, but the Cardinals starting him like this is just an inexcusable scenario by the front office.
Brissett is now 2-15 with the Cardinals, so we have a full 17-game season of him starting for the team. He's thrown 32 touchdown passes against 13 interceptions, and has also thrown nearly 4,500 yards in 19 total games with the team. Much of his production has been in 'garbage time,' and the franchise just isn't going to go in the right direction as long as he's the QB1.
While the odds would not be in his favor, there is nothing to lose by trotting out rookie Carson Beck for the rest of the season. Whether Beck shows promise or not, the Cardinals would continue losing or have something to build on for 2027.
Brissett is who he is at this stage of his career. It's time for the coaching staff to throw the towel in on this QB era and start fresh.
3. Washington Commanders - Cutting ties with Dan Quinn
The way the Washington Commanders ended things in Week 5 should be a fireable offense. Dan Quinn and his Commanders team have just been abysmally bad since the start of the 2025 season. The entire operation just feels disjointed. There isn't an identity or clear direction with this team.
And I am not even sure Jayden Daniels himself has done enough to earn a long-term extension, either. Quinn was a so-so hire to begin with, and it's clear now more than before that he's not the long-term option for this team.
The Commanders might have to rip the bandage off and say goodbye to Quinn to at least spark something.
