2. Philadelphia Eagles - Cutting ties with Nick Sirianni
You just really have no words at this point for the way things have gone for the Philadelphia Eagles the past two weeks. They blew a fourth quarter lead at home to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, and then somehow managed to allow the Jacksonville Jaguars to get into field goal range and kick the game-winner with less than 10 seconds left.
The Eagles go-ahead field goal late in the fourth quarter in London came with 12 seconds on the clock and one timeout left. I still have no idea why the Eagles didn't just take a knee and call their final timeout with a few seconds on the clock.
That would have guaranteed that their FG attempt would be the final play of the game, as the Jags would not have been able to touch the ball again. With the way things have gone, it all points back to coaching, and it feels like Nick Sirianni has overstayed his welcome at this point.
This does not feel like anything close to a playoff team, and while the Eagles have some major personnel concerns, the head coach being shown the door would at least get this ball rolling the way it needs to be.
1. Los Angeles Chargers - Cutting ties with Jim Harbaugh
Perhaps the most disappointing team in the NFL, the Los Angeles Chargers went 11-6 in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and are now 0-5 on the season. It's clear that Jim Harbaugh has lost control here. The Mike McDaniel hire has been a disaster, and the personnel was already overrated even before all the injuries started to mount.
There really isn't a single thing that the Chargers have done well this year besides lose. While Harbaugh has been a winner at every head coaching stop, it seems like his time with the Chargers isn't going to continue yielding those results. While he still does have a winning record and did win double-digit games in his first two years, this regression might be too much for the Chargers to stand pat with him.
