The wide receiver position certainly doesn't lack in the attention department, so flying under the radar in today's NFL is not exactly easy to do.
And yet, for one reason or another, there are a handful of receivers who don't get nearly the recognition they should. A lot of times, receivers can be graded on the curve of the true star players in the league, but other times, it could just be as simple as a player only being able to maximize limited opportunities, not playing in the national spotlight, or maybe having a star teammate that takes the shine.
Whatever reason(s) landed them on the list, we've assembled a list of the top 5 most underrated wide receivers in the AFC ahead of the 2026 season in our latest NFL Power Rankings.
Top 5 most underrated AFC WRs heading into the 2026 season
5. Romeo Doubs, New England Patriots
The first player we have to discuss is actually our first of two transplants from the NFC coming over to an AFC team this season. Romeo Doubs has been one of Jordan Love's most trusted targets for the Packers since he became the starting quarterback in 2023. People may not realize it, but Doubs actually led the Packers in targets two of the last three seasons, and he finished four off the team lead in 2024.
Leading a team in targets doesn't necessarily prove Doubs is underrated definitively, because you have to actually do something with those targets. He's coming off of back-to-back years setting a career-high in yards per reception (13.1 in 2024, 13.2 in 2025) and has 18 total touchdown catches over the last three years.
His drop percentage of 3.5 percent last season was the lowest of his NFL career. He might be second-fiddle to AJ Brown in New England, but Doubs is a really underrated all-around receiver who should be a big upgrade there.
4. Wan'Dale Robinson, Tennessee Titans
The second player on our list is yet another transplant from the NFC, and an addition that has been overshadowed by a top-4 pick in this year's draft (Carnell Tate).
The Titans needed to go get more weapons for Cam Ward this offseason, and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll made sure a reunion with Wan'Dale Robinson was going to happen. Daboll helped unlock Robinson's potential at the NFL level after a really fun college career, and Robinson followed him to Tennessee this offseason on a 4-year, $70 million deal that can reach $78 million with incentives.
Robison earned that contract by becoming the shortest receiver in league history (5-foot-8) to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. After averaging 8.2 yards per reception over the first three years of his NFL career, Robinson managed to see that number leap to 11 yards per reception in 2025. He was being targeted downfield much more often last season, seeing his ADOT (Average Depth of Target) increase from 4.8 in 2024 to 8.5 in 2025.
Even with more downfield looks, Robinson still maintained his ability to create YAC, setting a career-high in that category as well.
