8. Geno Smith, New York Jets
Geno Smith has been far from the main issue with the New York Jets, and he does look like a competent QB once again. Despite being 1-3, the veteran QB has completed 72.7 percent of his passes for 902 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
He has a 109 passer rating and a 60.5 QBR, which are both very imrpessive numbers. Frankly, the issue with the Jets is coaching, and that has been the case since Aaron Glenn got hired last year.
We are seeing some strides with the offense, and while this team has lost three in a row and is trending toward another lost season, there is slight reason for optimism when 2027 rolls around, as the Jets have a trio of first-round picks and do have some youthful talent on that side of the ball who could help a rookie QB develop.
Smith seems to have rebuilt his value a bit on the Jets this year.
7. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson comes in at No. 7 in our power rankings. He's played quite well this year, and it's hard to argue that much of anything has gone wrong for the 3-1 Cleveland Browns. With how horrific Watson was in previous seasons, his performance in 2026 is worth keeping an eye on.
There is a chance that this is just a honeymoon, and real life sets in within the next few weeks, but there is also a chance that Watson has simply figured it out again. He's completed nearly 70 percent of his passes for six touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Watson has a 101.2 passer rating and a 58.4 QBR. This could be sustainable, and if it is, the Browns would find themselves in a position they had envisioned when the front office first pulled this trade off years ago.
