It's wild to think that we're approaching Week 6 of the 2026 NFL Season. The trade deadline is even in view. Through the first five weeks, things have been hectic, to say the least. The NFL truly feels wide open this year, as both conferences don't really have a slam dunk contender at the moment.

This could make for a very entertaining December, and the playoffs could be even crazier. While the lone winless teams in the NFL are all in the AFC, that doesn't mean the conference doesn't have some formidable squads.

As we have done each week, let's dive into our latest conference power rankings, starting with the AFC. We're ranking based on how good the teams are through the first five weeks - keeping it simple.

Updated AFC rankings proves that the conference is wide open in 2026

16. Miami Dolphins (0-5)

I am not sure it's wild to suggest that the Miami Dolphins could be historically bad this year. The Dolphins are clearly in a major rebuilding process, and are in year one of that, but that doesn't mean the team is any less awful.

Sure, they could mess around and maybe win a couple of games this year, but from top to bottom, this roster is just not nearly there yet. The early returns from the rookie class seem encouraging, though.

15. Tennessee Titans (0-5)

The Tennessee Titans are not quite as bad as Miami, but they're definitely more disappointing, as this roster is further along, and the coaching staff is littered with veterans. That hasn't mattered, though, as the Titans can't seem to do much of anything right, and even though this is Robert Saleh's first year on the job, I don't see how he survives past 2026 if this team can't begin to show signs of life going forward.
