2. Buffalo Bills (8-2)

The Buffalo Bills may be a serious team, folks.  They have won eight of their first 10 games and could wrap the AFC East title up in a few weeks.  Buffalo is actually kind of proving me wrong this year, and I may have to admit just that.

They’re winning a ton of games and, like the no. 1 ranked team in these power rankings, are laser-focused on the playoffs.  For some of the best teams in the NFL, the regular season probably isn’t even all that fun, as they know they’ll make the postseason.

The Bills have failed to get over the hump in the NFL playoffs in recent years. Could this finally be the year that they do it?  Maybe.

1. Detroit Lions (7-1)

The Detroit Lions are currently playing on Sunday Night Football against the Houston Texans, and I would not be shocked if they won that game and got to 8-1 on the season.  Frankly, even in the event of a loss, the Lions would still be the best team in the NFL in my opinion.  They have been no. 1 on my version of the NFL power rankings for weeks now.

From top to bottom, this team is among the best in the NFL, and we are now getting to a point with the team where the regular season may not be fun for them.  I mean, they are winning at such a high rate that they surely have their eyes set on the postseason.  Jared Goff is playing at an MVP level, and it’d be cool to see a different name like Goff win the award this season.

As I type this out, the Lions are actually trailing the Texans.  We’ll see if that changes.

There you have it, folks our latest NFL power rankings as we approach Week 11 of the 2024 NFL Season.
