12. New Orleans Saints (0-1)
The New Orleans Saints, between the second half and into overtime, scored all 30 of their points. It was a very impressive in-game bounce back from Tyler Shough, the Saints young-ish QB who appears to be trending toward becoming a franchise passer.
While the Saints lost, there was a lot to be optimistic about with Shough's second-half performance. It's still quite early on in his career, too, as he didn't begin his rookie season as the starter, so this should, to a degree, be viewed as a continuation of his rookie season.
The Saints might just miss out on winning the NFC South this year, and improving in the win column and seeing Shough blossom a bit more should be the two main things to strive for this year. If that happens, the Saints could firmly place themselves on the map for 2027 and beyond.
For now, though, New Orleans is likely one of the worst teams in the conference.
11. New York Giants (1-0)
How about the New York Giants! It was quite the win for the team on Sunday Night Football. The defense played rather well, and Jaxson Dart looked extremely comfortable. As I said earlier, Week 1 can be misleading, so I'd not necessarily expect the Giants to continue doing what we saw on SNF, but it was as good a start as you can reasonably ask for.
The Giants and Saints are in a similar boat, as both have second-year QBs they are clearly high on. Dart might have the higher upside given he's a bit younger and more athletic overall. New York needs to see Dart get noticeably better this year, as, if that happens, they can be aggressive in investing around him more for 2027 and beyond.
Perhaps the Giants are trending upward.
