24. Los Angeles Chargers (0-2)
Is this too low for the Los Angeles Chargers? I am not sure it is. The Chargers come in at No. 24 in our power rankings after two of the most spineless losses you'll ever see. Losing to the Cardinals and Las Vegas is flat-out inexcusable for a team that has made the playoffs each of the last two seasons.
And for all the hype that was thrown their way with the Mike McDaniel hire, you'd think that they'd show a little bit more fight, but no. It honestly feels like this team shrinks up and quits when the game gets tough - there simply isn't any fight in this group.
In many instances, a team is who the QB is, so I do believe we can begin having some conversations about Justin Herbert, who is simply someone that possesses a lot of fun physical qualities, but has never really proven to have 'it,' which is something that you can identify in the league's top quarterbacks.
The Chargers are a mess.
23. New York Jets (1-1)
If nothing else, taking the Green Bay Packers into overtime is a neat thing that happened. The New York Jets are now 1-1 on the season, but this was not at all a bad loss. Sure, losing is losing, but for the Jets, there is a lot that this team has dealt with over the last decade-plus, so finding things to be optimistic about is valid.
With all of that being said, the Jets still don't have much going for them this year, but with a trio of first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, they could end up making a major splash that ends up finally putting them on the map, if they, of course, land the correct QB. The Jets are just outside the top-20 in our power rankings.
