The NFL hierarchy is slowly starting to shape up across the NFL. Week 2 action brought us some shocking results, but at the same time, much of what we saw was expected. Before you know it, the NFL season will have seen the first month completed.
Week 3 represents the final football we'll have in the month of September this year, and when the first month is over, that's when things really begin to heat up and come into view. As we have done the prior weeks, we've ranked the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFL.
This list will change from week to week. Primarily, though, these rankings represent the clear-cut best teams in the league, and we'll offer up analysis as to why these teams could be legitimate contenders in the 2026 season.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars (Last week: 10)
The Jacksonville Jaguars took our No. 10 spot last week and are unchanged as Week 3 approaches. if not for another fourth quarter comeback by the Denver Broncos, the Jaguars would be 2-0, and we'd likely be viewing them as the best team in AFC.
I am not sure a loss against a very good team that simply does not lose much at home changes anything. While the Jaguars roster isn't special, they're too well-coached not to be a contender. Not only is the coaching staff excellent, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence has played his tail off dating back to when their initial winning streak started during 2025.
The Jaguars might still be a year away, but this team is quite good and can hang with most teams in the league right now.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (Last week: Unranked)
I struggle to fully buy into the Philadelphia Eagles, but they're 2-0 with two close wins against Washington and Tennessee. I worry about the ceiling of the offense given the shaky run game and lack of AJ Brown, but the one thing that could keep them in every game is the defense, and the fact that the Eagles simply win.
It's not always pretty, especially with this team, but there is something to be said about a team that has won double-digit games each year since the 2022 season, and has made the playoffs each year since 2021.
Philly makes an appearance in our Super Bowl contender power rankings as Week 3 approaches, but keep an eye out for how this offense looks throughout the season.
