Being a head coach in the NFL is an incredibly difficult job, and that's evidenced by some of the head coaching jobs this year. We are getting far enough into the season where we could begin to see some in-season firings.
It's less than ideal, but it's part of this business. We've already seen a General Manager be shown the door, as Chris Ballard of the Indianapolis Colts was fired following their inexcusable Week 6 loss against the Tennessee Titans.
With Week 7 about here, let's get into our latest head coach hot seat power rankings, which is dominated by NFC head coaches.
NFC dominates latest head coach hot seat power rankings
6. Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas Cowboys
It seems like we are seeing why it took so long for Brian Schottenheimer to break through as a head coach in this league. The Dallas Cowboys consistently look unprepared and overwhelmed, and this roster is plenty good enough to capture the NFC East title, especially with how dysfunctional the division is right now.
It really isn't wild to think that the Cowboys could win the NFC East this year, but that man give even more reason for the Cowboys to pull the plug, as they could end up wasting another potential playoff season.
I just struggle to find much good from Schottenheimer's tenure thus far, and it feels like the Cowboys have regressed this year.
5. Nick Sirianni, Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are just a mess and have now lost four games in a row. Jalen Hurts is also going to be out for the rest of the season as he works through his blood clots issue, and you really start to feel like major change could be coming.
The Eagles aren't likely to be favored in many more games this year, and it seems like Nick Sirianni's true talent as a head coach has always come into question, as he doesn't call plays, and there always seems to be some type of drama surrounding the team.
