4. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos may be getting a lot of deserved flak for the performance so far this season of quarterback Bo Nix and the offense overall, but this is still one of the best and most dangerous teams in the AFC.

The Broncos are 4-2 after facing a gauntlet of teams to start this season (Chiefs, Jaguars, Rams, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks), including playing Seattle on a short week. The only losses the Broncos have are to two undefeated teams.

This team’s offense is preventing them from the #1 or #2 spot on this list. There’s no question about it. They need to find a run game, and they need Bo Nix to rediscover his confidence.

3. Buffalo Bills

There are few teams in the NFL right now more reliant on just one single player than the Buffalo Bills.

I don’t say this type of thing often, so I don’t say it lightly: Josh Allen is this team.

Without Josh Allen, the Bills would be worse than just lost. They would be in shambles. Yes, the Bills have a really good running game, but make no mistake about it – everything is elevated by No. 17.

And that’s really the primary reason I don’t think I can put them higher than 3rd at this point in the AFC. That defense under first-year coordinator Jim Leonhard has been rough.

2. New England Patriots

After a disastrous start to the season, the New England Patriots have seemingly figured out the formula that works. They have won three straight games, including a matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

This Patriots team has shown some impressive resilience, and they look like they’re back to their winning ways following the sluggish start. Drake Maye has seemingly returned to form, which we weren’t sure about earlier this season.

We already knew that this was going to be one of the most well-coached teams defensively, but the way the Patriots have picked things up over the last three games.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Still the undisputed #1 in the AFC (and maybe the whole NFL), the Kansas City Chiefs have to be feeling pretty great about where things are at after the first 6 weeks of the season.

Although they had an extremely early bye week to deal with, the Chiefs didn’t show any signs of slowing down exactly what got them an undefeated 4-0 record heading into Week 6 in the first place: RB Kenneth Walker.

That move is still looking like an absolute highway robbery more and more by the day. How did the Chiefs pull that one off?

Regardless of why or how the Seahawks just let him go, Walker has completely transformed the Kansas City offense. They are still not playing perfect football offensively (which is also kind of scary), and they will get a huge test on Sunday night going up against a ticked off Seahawks team coming off back-to-back losses (and playing at home).
