The 2026 NFL season continues to get more and more interesting with each passing week. That remark is reflected in the amount of history being set this season. There have been no fewer than 15 broken records and history-making moments through seven weeks this season.
We are in for so much more as the season continues to progress. Week 8 of the 2026 NFL regular season will see a few firsts for this series. Not only will Zach Ertz not be mentioned in the power rankings, as he was inactive for the Philadelphia Eagles yet again, but for the first time this year, we are looking at single-season records (yes, we are only heading into Week 8) that could be broken.
The congratulations section of the week begins with Paris, France, for both hosting its first NFL regular season and being the spot where Aaron Rodgers passed Peyton Manning for the third most touchdown passes in NFL history. Speaking of passing touchdowns, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford passed Roman Gabriel for the franchise record in that regard, becoming the first player ever to lead two teams in touchdown passes, also holding that distinction for the Detroit Lions. To end off Sunday, Travis Kelce passed both Cris Carter and Marvin Harrison to become the player with the fifth most catches in league history.

8. Atlanta Falcons receiving touchdowns by a running back record
The Atlanta Falcons have a pair of records that could potentially be broken this week as the team heads to Tampa Bay for a big divisional matchup with the Buccaneers. As a spoiler for the other record, it could be a wildly historic day for Bijan Robinson on Sunday. For this moment, as has been the case for most of the season, the receiving touchdowns by a running back record is on the line.
The Falcons seemed to have found its passing attack again. Unfortunately, the passing scores for Robinson have remained unchanged since the days of Cooper Rush as the starting quarterback for this team. As such, the running back could break the tie at the position with both Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman if he finds the end zone a couple of times this weekend.
