With Week 8 of the 2026 NFL Season already here, the fun is only just beginning. The NFL Trade Deadline has already gotten started a bit, and the playoff races in both conferences is only going to get more intense.

Between the two conferences, the NFC might end up being the more competitive one, and even the best teams in the NFC have some sort of notable roster concern at the moment. As the weather turns and we get into November, we'll begin to see the true contenders being separated from the pretenders.

Let's dive into our latest NFC power rankings with Week 8 beginning later today.

Updated NFC rankings with Week 8 approaching

16. Philadelphia Eagles, 2-5

The Philadelphia Eagles are now losers of five games in a row and will be starting a backup quarterback the rest of the season. I would assume that Tanner McKee won't keep getting starts if Philly keeps losing, and it also would not hurt to give other players a look.

With the way this season has gone thus far, it goes to show you just how quickly Super Bowl windows can close in this league. The Eagles won the Super Bowl in February of 2025, and now, about a year and a half later, the team might be bottom-3 in the sport.

15. Washington Commanders, 1-4-1

The Washington Commanders have won just six games since the start of the 2025 NFL Season. Head coach Dan Quinn's seat appears to be very hot, and between his inability to lead this team, and some rough roster-building, the Commanders are rapidly approaching another lost season.

Jayden Daniels also cannot stay on the field regularly, which is a major issue. The Commanders might end up needing another full-scale reset after 2026 and actually try to build around Daniels the right way.
