10. Dallas Cowboys, 3-4
The Dallas Cowboys come in at No. 10 in our NFC power rankings. The Cowboys were able to get a nice win over Philadelphia in Week 7, but this team still does have major defensive concerns, and that continues the the one thing holding them back from actually being a threatening team.
Despite all of the personnel and coaching changes made this offseason, it has not come together, as Christian Parker just seems flat-out overwhelmed and not cut out to be a defensive coordinator at this stage of his NFL career.
The Cowboys could try and make a trade deadline addition, and given how weak the NFC East is right now, the team could see a clear avenue to take control of the division. Dallas does boast the best QB in the division in Dak Prescott, and in most years, the team with the best QB does take home the division crown, so there is reason for optimism.
9. New York Giants, 4-2-1
The New York Giants, of all teams, are 4-2-1 on the year and in first place in the weak NFC East. The big disappointment here is that the team is doing this without Jaxson Dart, who looked really good as a rookie and did begin the 2026 season on the right foot.
Dart most definitely has the goods, but the Giants swinging a deal for JJ McCarthy was also not at all a bad idea. McCarthy looked like a franchise QB against Houston in Week 7, and while that was only one start, it's hard not to be optimistic about what he can do.
The Giants could be the best overall team in the division right now, but outside of potentially hosting a playoff game, I am not sure this team is good enough yet to actually make a run.
