8. Atlanta Falcons, 3-4
The Atlanta Falcons are one of the more interesting teams in sports right now. They feel a lot better than the 3-4 record indicates, as Michael Penix Jr has played outstanding football this year, and the defense is holding up their end of the bargain.
The Falcons handed San Francisco their first loss of the season in Week 7, and when you look at this group from top to bottom, you certainly see a reason for optimism. Obviously, Penix's health is going to be huge here, as he's struggled with injuries dating back to college, but the ability is clearly there.
The NFC South is far from over, but the Falcons definitely feel like the team to beat, and if Penix can keep this up, it's not wild to think that he and the Falcons are hosting a playoff game in a few months. Atlanta is No. 8 in our power rankings and are primed to rise.
7. Green Bay Packers, 4-3
The Green Bay Packers lost to Detroit in Week 7 and are now 4-3 on the season. The Packers are in a really good spot when you look at just how much they have had to deal with this season on the injury front. In fact, it's actually quite impressive that this team has not cratered, but the other side if this is the limited ceiling given the injuries.
The roster also wasn't sensational to begin with, but the Packers still appear to be good enough to make the playoffs as a Wild Card. Jordan Love has played some efficient football this year, and head coach Matt LaFleur, while not elite, is perfectly capable of leading this team to a modest, but successful season this year.
Green Bay is probably capped out in this range in our NFC power rankings.
