It was a week of upsets and surprises in Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season.
You train yourself to expect the unexpected when it comes to the NFL, but you're never fully prepared for weekends like the one we just witnessed.
Only one undefeated team remains after Week 7 (the Minnesota Vikings). Only one winless team remains (the Los Angeles Chargers).
This week's NFL Power Rankings have a ton of shuffling from the top to the bottom, and we've got a lot of action to unpack after an exciting slate of games (with more to come). Let's take a look at the latest NFL Power Rankings with Week 8 now on deck.
NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Biggest risers and fallers after Week 7
32. Los Angeles Chargers
Last week: 31st
Chargers were on a bye in Week 7***
The Los Angeles Chargers were on a bye in Week 7, and they barely escaped without a loss.
All kidding aside, this Chargers team has been through the wringer this season, and while an early bye week is usually not the most beneficial, this team needed a chance to just step back and hit reset.
Ironically, that’s kind of what we’re all waiting to find out if they’re going to do after this season is over. And that is a scenario that really nobody saw coming. Justin Herbert with Mike McDaniel calling the plays? The Chargers’ offense was supposed to take off. The defense was supposed to keep a dominating level of play, even without Jesse Minter.
Nothing has worked out, to say the least. Injuries have piled up. Bad football has been piled up. None of it is going well in Los Angeles.
31. Tennessee Titans
Last week: 30th
The Tennessee Titans dropped to 1-6 on the season after a late loss against the Cleveland Browns, and 0-4 at home so far this season.
This team cannot get out of its own way, and now we have Robert Saleh basically throwing his offensive coordinator – Brian Daboll – under the bus after the game.
Saleh is understandably frustrated with the way his offense has played throughout the course of this season. Cam Ward’s development was never going to be an upward, skyrocketing trajectory. It was never even going to be linear. But the frustration is boiling over, especially when you’re losing every game in front of your home fans.
It’s turned into a rebuilding year for the Titans, instead of a possible breakout year. And that’s okay, but changes to the offense may need to be made.
