The AFC is going to be in good hands at the quarterback position for the next decade, and based on how the last year and a half has gone, this conference could be quite hectic come playoff time. Thus far, we're definitely seeing many of the same teams and same QBs near the top.

After a somewhat unexpected 2025 season, the 2026 season seems to be returning to 'normal,' but in the same breath, we're only in Week 7, so there is still a lot that can change. In most scenarios, the teams with the better/best QBs tend to advance further. That isn't always the case, but those teams carry the biggest advantages in sports.

Let's see how the AFC QB hierarchy looks ahead of Week 7 and dive into some conference QB power rankings, ranking the signal-caller solely based on their 2026 performance.

Latest AFC QB Power Rankings as the bulk of Week 7 hits

16. Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins

Malik Willis has been awful this year, but you also can't blame him, as the Miami Dolphins might be the least-talented team in the sport, and they lost their best offensive player, De'Von Achane, a few weeks ago.

Willis has some neat off-schedule ability but just hasn't done much of anything this year.

15. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert takes a lot of the blame for the Los Angeles Chargers struggles this year, but he certainly does not shoulder all of it. Herbert has thrown five touchdown passes against eight interceptions. His 68.8 passer rating is a benchably low number, and the Chargers are already in a total loss of a season.

14. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Cam Ward just has not taken that next step like some had hoped. Ward is completing just 61.6 percent of his passes and has four touchdown passes against four interceptions. Some would argue that Ward has been worse this year than in his rookie season last year.

13. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

Daniel Jones has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns and is playing like he has for the bulk of his career. His first-half breakout in 2025 was clearly an outlier, as the Indianapolis Colts are now, once again, in a major QB uncertainty period.

Jones has somehow managed to start the bulk of his career but could be approaching some upcoming seasons where he needs to rebuild his value as a backup.
