Given how deep the NFC appears to be right now, what we could see happen is the teams that have the very best QBs going the furthest. While this is generally true, the NFC being stacked with so many quality passers does really amp up the pressure on those quarterbacks to perform.

With the bulk of Week 7 approaching, the playoff races in both conferences will begin to heat up big-time, and it's not going to be crazy to see the teams with the very best passers standing tall in the end, but there is still a lot that can change.

Let's keep up with our power rankings exercises and rank the starting QBs in the NFC with Week 7 here. We are simply ranking based on 2026 performance and nothing else.

Updated starting QB rankings in the NFC can lead to a lot of future movement

16. Tanner McKee, Philadephia Eagles

Tanner McKee is starting for the Philadelphia Eagles with Jalen Hurts out, and it's quickly turning into a lost season for the Eagles with the mounting injuries. McKee is simply just a guy and is probably going to play like your average NFL backup.

Sure, he'll probably have his moments, but the Eagles aren't going to win many more games this year.

15. JJ McCarthy, New York Giants

JJ McCarthy suddenly finds himself with a really neat chance with the New York Giants, as he's going to start for them this week. Still just 23, McCarthy's NFL timeline is well-documented and is rather unforunate. While the Giants have their QB of the future in Jaxson Dart, McCarthy playing well enough could have the Giants at least considering him as a future backup option, but McCarthy is largely an erratic, inconsistent player.

14. Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

Sam Darnold has been flat-out bad this year, folks. Bad.

This isn't to wash away what he and the Seattle Seahawks did in 2025, but Darnold is completing just over 60 percent of his passes and has as many interceptions as touchdown passes. We're definitely beginning to see a potentially brutal reality that Darnold isn't going to be able to elevate this team and might not be all that special of a player unless the situation is very secure around him.

13. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Likely getting the start, Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers really have to begin turning this thing around, but Mayfield, in his three games this year, didn't look that good and is honestly in the same tier as Darnold - a fine QB who needs a lot to go right around him to consistently succeed.
