It all starts this Thursday night at Soldier Field when a pair of defending division champions sporting 4-2 records clash in prime time. It ends on a Monday night in the City of Brotherly Love where a couple of NFC East rivals sporting 2-4 marks both look to end brief losing streaks.

The Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings return to action this week. While the ‘Fins are still looking for their first win of 2026, the other three clubs are members of divisions where no team has a losing record.

Speaking of byes, the Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs were off in Week 5, returned to action last Sunday and both came away with victories.

Take a look at 5 key numbers for Week 7

Half of this week’s 14-game slate are interconference affairs. In fact, this week’s first two contests has the NFC’s Chicago Bears hosting the AFC’s New England Patriots on Thursday night. Three days later in Paris, France, the New Orleans Saints are the designated “home” team when they battle the Pittsburgh Steelers. After four weeks of play, the NFC owned a 13-9 lead in the season standings. However, the AFC went a combined 5-0 the past two weeks and now own a one-game advantage (14-13) in this year’s series.

It’s not your imagination if you think you are seeing a lot of high-scoring contests in 2026. Let’s take a look at each of these last four NFL campaigns after six weeks of play. In three of those years, there were a total of 93 games played (92 games in 2024). This season, there have been 30-plus points scored by teams an impressive 54 times. That’s 10 more times (44) than in 2025. In 2024, clubs reached that mark 41 times and only 40 times in 2023. Teams scoring 30 or more points in a game this season own a 43-11 record.

By now, NFL fans are well aware of the fact that Mike LaFleur’s Arizona Cardinals—who used six field goals to stun the Los Angeles Rams at Inglewood last Sunday—have won just two games this season. The punchline is that both victories have come at SoFi Stadium. In Week 1, Big Red defeated the Los Angeles Chargers. The Cards allowed a combined 30 points in those wins. Meanwhile, LaFleur’s club has been outscored a combined 148-82 in four losses—giving up more than 30 points in each of those setbacks.

It’s been a very uneven year for Sean McVay’s club. From a Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia, to squandering a 16-0 halftime lead on a Sunday night at Denver. The Rams had a field goal blocked in overtime vs. the Bills in what proved to be a 37-34 loss. Last Sunday, the visiting Arizona Cardinals didn’t need a touchdown to post a stunning 18-16 win. It’s worth noting that while the Rams are ranked third in total defense, only six teams in the league are allowing more yards per game (127.0) on the ground.

In 2025, the Seattle Seahawks compiled a 17-3 overall record. They won their last 10 games, including three postseason contests, and concluded the streak with a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. That third loss a year ago for Mike Macdonald’s club, a 21-19 setback to the Rams at SoFi Stadium, came in Week 11. Last Thursday night, the ‘Hawks dropped their third game in four weeks—a 17-14 overtime setback at Denver. Each of Seattle’s losses this season has come by three points or less.
