20. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts earned their first win of the season, but it’s been a shaky start for Daniel Jones. While taking Kansas City into overtime in Week 2 feels like a moral win, it’s still a loss. The Colts returned home in Week 3 and were able to knock off Houston. In all three games this year, Jones has tossed one touchdown and one interception.
After a wicked start to the 2025 season in which the Colts raced out to a 7-1 record, the entire operation has since regressed, and they simply don’t feel like a good team right now. Much of what a team is also falls on how good the QB is, and while Jones was playing very well in the first half of last year, that was an entire year ago now, and that can be a lifetime in the NFL.
The Colts probably need a major reset if you ask me. This current setup isn’t going to be nearly good enough to win games, but starting 1-2 is certainly better than the alternative of being 0-3. If the Colts want to go on a run here, Jones will need to somehow figure out how to channel that play from 2025 before going down with his Achilles injury.
19. CJ Stroud, Houston Texans
It’s not easy to find where to slot CJ Stroud in the QB hierarchy. He and Houston are off to another 0-3 start - this team started 0-3 in the 2025 season before going 12-2 the rest of the way, but I am not sure that kind of change is coming this year.
The offensive line and run game feel like a regressed group since 2025, and Stroud is simply not the type of QB to put a team on his back and carry them to victory. His rookie season back in 2023 was outstanding, but he’s been nothing more than an average player since then.
It’s honestly quite sad, as it seemed like Houston was well on their way to taking residence near the top of the NFL hierarchy, and while what we have seen in 2026 is not necessarily Stroud’s fault, he’s also not played too well.
Stroud has not thrown an interception this year, but he’s also not played particularly well. His passer ratings the past two weeks have been 74.3 and 89.6 after a strong Week 1 performance. While Houston does have bigger issues, Stroud has not done enough to earn a long-term extension, and with how win-now this roster is, Houston’s front office has a huge problem on their hands.
And now with being 0-3, they’re in a major hole to begin the season and probably have to go 10-4 over the final 14 games to even have a chance to get into the playoffs.
