It's still early in the 2026 NFL season, which means we're still very much in the "information gathering" stage of evaluating quarterbacks around the league.

And the QBs have been taking us for quite the rollercoaster ride already this season.

That's what makes these weekly NFL QB Rankings so much fun. There is an obvious element of, "What have you done for me lately?" combined with the established reputations of each player that makes these such a fun exercise.

After everything that we saw in Week 4, we have a lot to dive into, so let's not waste any time. Here are the latest NFL QB Power Rankings heading into Week 5.

NFL QB Power Rankings, Week 5: Bryce Young soaring, Jalen Hurts plummeting

32. Jalon Daniels, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last week: Unranked (Baker Mayfield played)

Making his debut on our QB Power Rankings this season is Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup Jalon Daniels, the first rookie quarterback to make a start in the NFL this season.

And the Green Bay Packers treated him like it.

To Daniels’s credit, he showed some guts out there, even to the last play of the game. On a 4th-and-gotta-have-it, Daniels was blitzed for a third straight play, and was wrapped up around his legs. He kept his footing just to attempt a throw, but it fell incomplete.

All things considered, the debut of Jalon Daniels didn’t go too bad at all. He had 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, was blitzed and pressured heavily, but the Bucs kept it a close game to the very end. We’ll see if he can climb up this list with the opportunity he’s getting, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

31. Athan Kaliakmanis, Washington Commanders (injury replacement for Marcus Mariota)

Last week: 24th (Marcus Mariota)

The injury bug has been an unavoidable nuisance for the Washington Commanders early on this season. Little did the fans in London know they were going to get to see the NFL debut of rookie Athan Kaliakmanis as an injury replacement for Marcus Mariota, who only threw four passes in the game.

And Kaliakmanis put up some nice numbers, but this one got away from the Commanders rather quickly. His deep touchdown pass to Treylon Burks kept Washington in the game, but the Commanders’ defense couldn’t handle Jonathan Taylor and the Colts’ offense in the 4th quarter.

It was good to see how Kaliakmanis, the rookie out of Minnesota, was able to come in and respond when his number was called. The Commanders just let him come in and cut it loose.

As for the status of Mariota, he’s going to miss some time after aggravating a knee injury. But the Commanders are set to welcome Jayden Daniels back next week as he’s going to play through his latest elbow injury.
