30. Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears
Last week: Unranked (Case Keenum played)
For the third straight week, the Chicago Bears had a different “starting” quarterback. And now they’ve had three different starters win games for them in 2026, except technically, Case Keenum was out for the first snap. Regardless, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Ben Johnson isn’t a puppetteer, but as far as offensive play-callers go, he may make the biggest difference in the NFL right now.
Bagent had the backing of a great running game (and an outstanding performance from Kyle Monangai) as well as a shutdown performance from the Bears’ defense.
He still threw 34 passes in this game, but that’s just further proof of how much Johnson trusts all the guys he has right now, even though there were some rough throws in this game from Bagent. He also became the first QB to throw an interception to the New York Jets in the 21st century, I heard.
29. Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins
Last week: 30th
The more time goes by, the more it looks like Malik Willis is revealing himself as just a high-end backup quarterback.
We’ll see what the rest of the season brings, but Willis predictably struggled against the Minnesota Vikings’ defense, which has been arguably the most dominant in the entire NFL so far this season.
The Vikings’ defense has put pretty much every QB it has faced into a blender, and Willis was no exception. He had just 85 yards passing and lost a fumble. The Dolphins’ offense had just 8 first downs the entire game.
Miami isn’t going to have to play against this type of defense every single week, but at some point, Willis has to give the weapons in that offense a better look than just 9 completions in a game. He’s had just 1 touchdown pass in four games so far this season, and is completing less than 60 percent of his throws.
Will the Dolphins be looking for a solution in the 2026 NFL Draft at QB, or will they use the #1 pick on Ohio State star WR Jeremiah Smith? Maybe both...
