It's already time for October football, which means future NFL stars are making themselves known across the college football landscape.
Some like Jeremiah Smith are simply leaving no doubt.
As the 2026 NFL regular season rolls along into Week 4, future NFL Draft needs are also becoming clearer each week. Although the draft order could change drastically between now and the end of the season, we're starting to get a better idea of which prospects are being coveted by NFL teams, and what landing spots could make the most sense for each player.
Our newest 2027 NFL Mock Draft has some fun changes this week, with Jeremiah Smith taking over the top spot overall and a couple of quarterbacks (including Arch Manning) sliding down the board a bit. Let's dive into the latest 1st-round mock draft predictions.
2027 NFL Mock Draft: Jeremiah Smith goes #1, Arch Manning slides in 1st-round predictions
Draft order was determined using NFL Spin Zone's Week 4 NFL Power Rankings***
1. Miami Dolphins: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
Nobody is accusing the Miami Dolphins of being “set” at the quarterback position going forward, but Jeremiah Smith has changed the game. Yes, quarterback always gets the priority over wide receiver when it comes to team building. But in the case of Jeremiah Smith, all bets are off.
He’s being called a generational prospect for a reason. And unlike in many cases, this isn’t just hyperbole. It’s rare to see a blue-chip prospect with this combination of size and athleticism also have seemingly such a high floor at the age of 20.
He’ll easily be the top player on every team’s board, and the way this season has gone, there will be enough distance between him and the top QB prospect to justify taking him.
2. Tennessee Titans: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas
There are two really nice options for the Titans here in this position, both on the defensive side of the ball. You wonder if we might be getting into offensive tackle territory potentially, though the Titans’ offensive line has played surprisingly well this season.
All throughout the 2026 NFL Draft process, the Titans were being projected to go after a pass rusher. With what we’ve seen early in the 2026 season, it’s easy to see why. This team needs some juice off the edge. Colin Simmons can provide it.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame
The Buccaneers obviously don’t expect to be in this position by the end of the season, but this is where they’re headed. And just like any team that had an expectation of contending only to find themselves picking in the top 5-10 picks of the draft? You have to prioritize the premium positions.
The Buccaneers have handed out a ton of cash in recent years, so they need to get some players on rookie contracts at the most expensive positions. Leonard Moore has been as advertised this season as one of the best defensive players in the country.
4. Atlanta Falcons: Jordan Seaton, OT, LSU
The Atlanta Falcons have invested so much on the offensive side of the ball, but they find themselves in a very strange position right now. The quarterback position is, at best, a question mark. If they finish with the 4th pick in the NFL Draft?
That could put this team firmly in the QB discussion. Michael Penix Jr. stabilized the position upon his return against Green Bay, but the current regime in Atlanta also didn’t draft him.
All of that to say, the Falcons also have a need on the offensive line. Kaleb McGary opened up a hole at right tackle with his surprise retirement, and starting left tackle Jake Matthews will be 35 before next season.
