30. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Last week: 31st
How about Cam Ward leading the Titans to a come-from-behind win on the road against the Indianapolis Colts?
Alright, that’s laying it on a little too thick. Ward only had 102 passing yards in the Titans’ win against the Colts, but even though the defense did the heavy lifting, it was important for this win to happen.
Ward threw a touchdown to Carnell Tate in this game, the first touchdown connection between that promising duo. As exciting as Ward had been last year in short spurts, he’s been extremely frustrating so far this season.
We’re simply not seeing the necessary progression from him, but there is still a lot of season left, and the Titans are anything but a finished product. We’ll keep trusting the process…for now.
Hey, you never know – maybe Jeremiah Smith will help.
29. Tyler Huntley, Baltimore Ravens
Last week: 29th
Tyler Huntley and the Ravens marched down the field for scores on their first two drives of the game against the Cleveland Browns, but that was it.
Even though Huntley’s teammates let him down (fumble by Derrick Henry, missed field goal in the 4th quarter), he simply didn’t do enough in this game against the Browns on the road.
The Ravens have done well with Huntley in place of the injured Lamar Jackson, but this team very obviously needs Jackson in the mix, especially with how competitive the division has gotten. If Jackson has to miss much more time, this division is going to start running away from the Ravens.
It wouldn’t be shocking if he was back for their Week 7 matchup against the Bengals, and the absolute gauntlet they are about to face with the Bengals, Bills, and Jaguars all in a row.
