The college football season is already approaching the midway point, and we're nearly one-third of the way done with the NFL season.

Don't look now, but the 2026 football season is blazing by.

The reality is that there is still a ton of football left to be played, and a lot that can happen between now and the 2027 NFL Draft. This is going to be one of the most interesting classes in recent memory, although given the hype coming into the season, it's been a little bit disappointing so far.

With needs beginning to reveal themselves, as well as top prospects coming into focus, we're going to take another crack at a 2027 NFL mock draft with some major new developments at the quarterback position, offensive linemen galore, and some new playmakers entering the 1st-round conversation.

2027 NFL mock draft: Drew Mestemaker is the new QB1, Arch Manning dropping

1. Tennessee Titans: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

Right now, Jeremiah Smith is the undisputed #1 pick in the NFL mock draft world. And for obvious reasons.

What makes him so special? He’s the total package at the position. He has an elite combination of size, athleticism, route running abilities, strong hands, and the ability to make plays after the catch. He’s also only 20 years old.

Do the Titans have bigger fish to fry than another top-5 pick at wide receiver? Sure, but you can’t pass on Jeremiah Smith in this draft if you get #1 overall.

2. Los Angeles Chargers: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame

It will still be a little shocking to see the Los Angeles Chargers picking this high in the Spring, but if it does end up happening, they’ll have plenty of interesting options.

I’m not really buying into the idea that they’ll blow up the whole operation and start fresh everywhere, including quarterback, so the Chargers have to take whoever ends up as the next best non-QB on the board.

They’ve had a ton of injuries at cornerback this year, but regardless of that, Leonard Moore might just have the highest floor of any defensive prospect in this class.

3. Miami Dolphins: Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State

The crazy thing about two non-QBs going off the board before this pick by the Dolphins is that this still looks like a good quarterback class. I’m not sure it’s as great as we expected, but there are still a lot of really good prospects. NFL teams just might not be pleased with how far along they look right now.

Drew Mestemaker has taken that next step in his game, however. He was intriguing at North Texas, but everyone wanted to see what he was made of against better competition. He’s been outstanding, and he’s this draft’s QB1 right now.

4. Houston Texans: Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas

Just like the Los Angeles Chargers, I’m skeptical we’ll see the Houston Texans this high in the 2027 NFL Draft.

We’ll see.

But if they do end up here, the offensive line has to be addressed. Heck, maybe even the quarterback position will have to be addressed unless they decide to give CJ Stroud one of the biggest contracts in history.

Time will tell, but the Texans have been remodeling their offensive line for quite some time now. Trevor Goosby is not a lock for the top 5 picks right now, but he’s looking like the best tackle prospect in a good class at the position.
