29. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are facing the difficult weekly question about whether or not Daniel Jones is going to be the starting quarterback.

And for now, the messaging is that he’s still the player who gives the team the best chance to win.

That message is getting harder and harder to sell as the Colts keep struggling as a team. Jones finished with just 144 yards passing and a pair of interceptions in the Colts’ ugly blowout loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s got 5 touchdown passes compared to 9 interceptions so far this season.

It’s been ugly for the Colts as a team, but the regression from Jones after the first 10 games we saw last year is highly discouraging.

28. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

You have to give credit where it’s due: Most current NFL fans were not around or watching back in the 70s, which is the last time a team won a game without a single completed pass. In fact, the Buccaneers have now won back-to-back games with Baker Mayfield completing just 7 passes on 14 attempts.

That’s absolutely mind-blowing and hilarious, all at the same time.

We know Mayfield is capable of stuffing the stat sheet. It’s also worth mentioning that the Bucs’ game on Sunday was very obviously weather-impacted, and they were able to run the ball well in a win over the Falcons.

Still, for most of this season, Mayfield has not played well. He needs to bounce back quickly.

27. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-7 to start this season, and Justin Herbert genuinely seems broken right now. Herbert is up to 10 total interceptions this season, and has thrown at least one pick in every game the Chargers have played so far.

He’s completing just over 61 percent of his throws, and the offense is simply a disaster for the Chargers right now.

Some of the struggles we’ve seen from Herbert in the past stem from the pressure he’s facing, receivers dropping passes, or plain bad luck in some cases. Every interception has a story, but we’re seeing Herbert make some really bad throws even from clean pockets this season.

It feels like he just isn’t the same guy out there right now.
