15. Jacksonville Jaguars - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

The Jacksonville Jaguars just cannot seem to figure out their WR room, can they?  It’s been a stain on the tenure of Trent Baalke, the team’s GM, but there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.  Over the last few offseasons, Baalke has signed Christian Kirk and Gage Davis.  Both are fine players.  Kirk is definitely better and is a high-end WR2.  Gabe Davis’ best role is as a WR3.

They also took Brian Thomas Jr in the 2024 NFL Draft, so the room could be rounding out.  Well, the Ohio State Buckeyes have had some excellent players at the WR position coming into the NFL, and Emeka Egbuka could be the next.

He could join players like Marvin Harrison Jr, Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson as recent OSU studs to make it to the NFL, and I am sure QB Trevor Lawrence would vouch for a move like this.

16. Cleveland Browns - Emery Jones, OT, LSU

The Cleveland Browns may need a new starting tackle in the near future.  Could be be Emery Jones?  The second LSU tackle to go in round one, Jones could be stepping into an awesome situation in Cleveland, as the Browns have a top-tier offensive line, but the Browns have not always had consistent tackle play.

Starting RT Jack Conklin suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL Season.  He’s missed 26 games in four seasons with the team.  Left tackle Jedrick Wills has also been quite shaky.  They do have a second-year tackle in Dawand Jones who was pretty solid as a rookie, but as you can see, there is room for one more.

So, in the middle of the first round, the Browns nab Emery Jones from LSU.
