6. Jalen Coker

Coming into Sunday, the Carolina Panthers team leader in receiving yards this season was Jalen Coker after he had a pair of 100+ yard games to start the 2026 campaign. However, the wide receiver has been dealing with a foot injury early on in the year. Ultimately, it was a quad injury that took Coker out of action for Carolina this weekend.

While the severity of the injury is unknown, it is worth noting that Coker was ruled out quickly due to the quadriceps issue. That could be telling of how bad the injury is, or the Panthers may have just not wanted to add on to the list of ailments its top receiver is dealing with to begin the season. If Coker misses any time, expect Tet McMillan to take on a bigger role in the Carolina offense until Coker is healthy again.

5. Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback Baker Mayfield had an early exit on Sunday after suffering a dislocated thumb. The signal caller is undergoing additional testing to determine if there was any other damage to the thumb, and if there is, Mayfield could miss time moving forward in Tampa Bay. Even if there is not any additional damage to his thumb, Mayfield could sit out a game or two in order to have his thumb heal, and if that is the case, expect rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels to fill in for the time being.

4. Jalen McMillan

Remarkably, an injury to the quarterback is not the most impactful one to this Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad this last weekend, as wide receiver Jalen McMillan aggravated the knee injury that caused him to miss Week 1. Back in training camp, McMillan sat out of practice with the ailment for about a month, and if that is the case again, look for the Buccaneers to place the pass catcher on injured reserve. For as long as he may miss, look for rookie wideout Ted Hurst to take up more of a featured role in this offense.
