2. Mack Hollins
Heading into Week 4, the New England Patriots’ leading wide receiver was Mack Hollins, who left the game hopping onto the sideline after sustaining a calf injury. As of now, there is no timetable for the veteran pass catcher to return to action if he misses any time. There is still at least one more game that A.J. Brown will miss as he was placed on injured reserve following Week 1, meaning it will be Romeo Doubs’ job to step up as the top target for this Patriots wide receiver room.
3. Keenan Allen
Before the game even kicked off on Sunday morning, the Indianapolis Colts were already down one of its top wide receivers, Keenan Allen. The veteran pass catcher injured his groin in practice this week and was ruled out for the weekend matchup. There is not a timeline for a return to action for Allen, but with the nature of groin injuries tending to linger if not fully healed, the Colts would be smart to keep the starting wide receiver out of action for a little while; if he misses any further games, expect there to be a committee approach for the second wide receiver spot, much like what happened in London.
4. D.J. Moore
The Buffalo Bills, once again, lost its top wide receiver, DJ Moore, early in a game due to a shoulder injury, and he never returned to Sunday’s game. Seeing as this is not the first time this season that Moore has left the game due to the same shoulder, the Bills could be more inclined to allow him a week to recover, as it seems like the AC joint sprain issue seemed to linger. While nothing is confirmed, Moore and his status for Week 5 is in question, meaning that Keon Coleman could have another chance to fill in as the top receiver for Josh Allen next weekend.
