Yes, it is still very early on in the 2026 NFL Season, but many of the regular teams are highlighting the AFC Playoff Picture thus far. While that is true, both the AFC and NFC feel wide open this year, as most teams do have at least one major concern that could derail a deep playoff run.
Despite being 4-2, for example, the Denver Broncos have some pretty major problems on offense, but they are seeing the defense find their footing. And with the bulk of Week 6 starting soon, the playoff picture in the AFC may end up looking a bit different when Sunday is over.
Let's dive into how the AFC Playoff Picture currently looks following the Broncos' narrow Week 6 victory.
Updated AFC Playoff Picture following the Broncos dramatic OT win in Week 6
Division Leaders
1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)
The Kansas City Chiefs were on their bye in Week 5, so they'll have to play each week without much of a break the rest of the way. However, they are the lone unbeaten team in the conference right now and have gotten some MVP-caliber returns from Kenneth Walker III thus far.
2. Baltimore Ravens (4-1)
Lamar Jackson is already banged up and has an ankle injury, which is less than ideal. Baltimore is still 4-1 and definitely feel a lot different than in previous seasons. First-year head coach Jesse Minter is absolutely cut out for the job.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)
The Jacksonville Jaguars might be the most fun team in the sport right now. The offense is electric with Trevor Lawrence, and we have now seen this team come out victorious in tight games. The roster itself isn't loaded with talent, but the Jaguars have barely lost since the last six weeks of the 2025 season.
4. Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Buffalo's offense is outstanding, but the defense is far from. Right now, the Bills are not a well-coached team and have relied on Josh Allen a bit too much. I guess as long as the wins keep coming, though, there should not be a major cause for concern.
