The 2027 NFL Draft is hardly coming into "focus", but some of the best prospects in the upcoming class are slowly revealing themselves as the college football season rolls along.

As we expected going into the 2026 season, there has been a ton of drama and intrigue at the quarterback position. Arch Manning continues to be a polarizing topic of discussion, Drew Mestemaker's breakout is going according to plan, and others have emerged as top-10 candidates.

We're going to do a mini mock draft looking at the top 10 picks overall, and see what kind of drama we could expect if the season ended today.

Mock draft order determined using our Week 6 NFL Power Rankings***

2027 NFL mock draft: Jeremiah Smith still 1st overall, new QB emerging

1. Tennessee Titans: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

It's crazy to think how abundantly clear Jeremiah Smith is making it that he's the #1 player in a draft class that includes potentially 5 or more quarterbacks being discussed as top 10 overall prospects.

Smith is what people should reserve the term "generational" for. He is that good.

The Titans obviously need to figure out what's going on with Cam Ward, but the idea of pairing up Carnell Tate with Jeremiah Smith to play together on Sundays is too enticing to pass on.

2. Miami Dolphins: Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State

Right now, no quarterback prospect is proving to be the cream rising to the top more than Oklahoma State's Drew Mestemaker.

After impressing during his time at North Texas, the transfer product has overcome a slow start and is once again showing the skills that made him a preseason favorite for many in the NFL Draft community.

He's shown the tools and playmaking against top competition NFL scouts want to see. The Dolphins, needing a franchise QB of the future, choose him as the QB1 of the class to build around.

3. Los Angeles Chargers: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas

Where do we even begin with the Chargers? Anytime a team like this is struggling as badly as we're seeing from the Chargers, you have to start somewhere in the trenches. Short of getting Jeremiah Smith, I'm not sure there's a smarter pick the Chargers could make here than Colin Simmons.

You could make an argument for Leonard Moore, but with Smith off the board, taking a defensive playmaker at one of the premium positions is the wise decision.

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Chargers if the losses keep coming.
