Arizona Cardinals place LB John Abraham on IR

The Arizona Cardinals have placed LB John Abraham on the IR. he has been dealing with concussion like symptoms and even contemplated retiring before returning to practice this week. Instead, the team is taking the safe approach and placing him on the IR.

He will be out for the year and that could be the end of his career. He will get more time to think about retirement. He has the bug to play more, but this could be the end.
Abraham was one of the players on the roster that was able to get a decent pass rush. The team will need to find other ways to get after the quarterback with Abraham out. The team has done well so far, but someone will need to step up for the rest of the season.
Abraham finished last season with 11.5 sacks. That pressure will be missed in the Cardinals defense. After 15 NFL seasons, Abraham has 133.5 sacks.
