Carson Palmer will still work out before game
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is expected to make his return for today’s game against the porous- and hobbled- Washington Redskins pass defense, so it’s a great way for him to ease himself back into the game after being out for so long. Palmer’s long-awaited return from a nerve issue in his right, throwing shoulder should come today, though pre-game warm-ups are, as expected, the final hurdle for him to clear before receiving medical clearance.

According to FOX Sports 910’s Mike Jurecki, the Cardinals will work out Palmer a “few hours” before the team’s 4:25 p.m. ET kick-off time against the Redskins, which gives Palmer a little bit more time to rest before his shoulder is put to the test. He made plenty of progress at practice this past week, and while he isn’t throwing the ball at full strength, he reportedly did a solid job of delivering passes.
If Palmer is unable to play, then Drew Stanton, who received clearance after suffering an injury last week against the Denver Broncos, will get another start for the Cards. Stanton has the kind of arm strength to take advantage of the Redskins undisciplined play in coverage, though it’s obviously preferable for the Cardinals to start Palmer, who can actually throw the ball with consistent accuracy.
