Carson Palmer Injury: Cardinals QB still must prove health
Arizona Cardinals veteran quarterback Carson Palmer is expected to play today against the Washington Redskins, and he has a good opportunity to rack up some yardage against a very soft defense if he is active. While most reports have been very optimistic, Palmer isn’t out of the woods yet, because he is still a game-time decision despite the fact that all signs are pointing in the right direction.

FOX Sports’s Jay Glazer reports, via Rotoworld, that Palmer’s status hasn’t been decided yet and that the QB has to show head coach Bruce Arians that he can comfortably make every throw. If he can do that, then he’ll be able to suit up. If not, then the Cardinals won’t feel the need to risk him, especially since Drew Stanton was cleared to play on Friday night after suffering an injury the previous week against the Denver Broncos.
I would still expect Palmer to be out there against the Redskins, but it pays to be cautious and monitor his status closely by following your Twitter feed (if you have one) when pre-game warm-ups roll around. At this point, a setback on his nerve clearly isn’t the expectation, but the Cardinals are going to continue to be prudent with the 34-year-old signal-caller.
