Larry Fitzgerald, Julius Thomas Injury Updates

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been playing his best ball since 2011 this season, but it sounds like he is expected to miss today’s game against the Seattle Seahawks after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain last week against the Detroit Lions. Fitzgerald is one tough guy, and it was telling when he stated on Monday that he would play through the injury. That could be the case, since he is a game-time decision, but the fact of the matter is that Fitzgerald never practiced this week and is more than just “highly questionable” or a “toss-up”.

More from Arizona Cardinals

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that while Fitzgerald is still a game-time decision against Seattle, he reports that the wideout would need a “miracle” in order to suit up. If he is indeed out, then it’s a huge blow, as Drew Stanton would have to rely on Michael Floyd, John Brown, and Andre Ellington. That’s still a nice trio of weapons, but losing a top possession receiver against the Seahawks can be a massive blow, especially given how well Fitzgerald has been playing lately.

Denver Broncos star TE Julius Thomas is a game-time decision today against the playoff-hopeful Miami Dolphins, but his status as a game-time call is actually legit. It’s so legit, in fact, that Rapoport reports Thomas doesn’t even know if he’ll be able to play. That is the definition of being a toss-up and a “true” game-time call, and it sounds like we won’t know his status until the Broncos release their inactive card.
