Larry Fitzgerald Injury: AZ Cardinals WR listed questionable

facebooktwitterreddit

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald believed he would be able to play last week against the rival Seattle Seahawks, but it was obvious that he wouldn’t be able to suit up a mere week after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain against the Detroit Lions. Fitzgerald was finally able to return to the practice field today, and there’s hope that he will be able to suit up and play against Desmond Trufant and the Atlanta Falcons, who have one of the NFL’s weakest secondaries (Trufant is the lone bright spot, and the secondary is worse now with No. 2 CB Robert Alford out for a few weeks).

More from Arizona Cardinals

We already know that Fitzgerald is going to be game-time decision, and that doesn’t surprise anyone. Even less surprising is the fact that the Cardinals have officially listed Fitzgerald as questionable, as per ESPN NFL Nation’s Vaughn McClure. Fitzgerald is a true toss-up for Sunday’s game, and players with that designation are always labeled as questionable on the injury report.

Fitzgerald has caught 46 passes for 658 yards as the team’s top threat this season, and this includes two huge performances against the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams. If he doesn’t play, Michael Floyd should be able to feast, unless if he spends most of his time being covered by Trufant. If that’s the case, then the explosive John Brown will put up the big numbers.
