Atlanta Falcons 2015 Seven-Round Mock Draft
Oct 30, 2014; Louisville, KY, USA; Florida State Seminoles guard Josue Matias (70) against the Louisville Cardinals at Papa John
Another piece to add to the offense is up front along the offensive line. The unit as a whole is pretty solid, with young Jake Matthews and Ryan Schraeder at the tackle positions, Jon Asamoah at guard and James Stone at center.

Following the release of veteran guard Justin Blalock, the team will need some reinforcements in this area. Currently, Asamoah and Harland Gunn are the only guards on the active roster so more depth is certainly required.
It’s possible the Falcons will dip into free agency to find a replacement, and could then look for extra depth here in the fifth-round of the draft.
Florida State’s Josue Matias (6’5″, 309 pounds) has a big frame and is efficient in pass-protection. He also has the potential to be a good run blocker at the next level, something the Falcons have struggled somewhat with.
Matias struggled at the combine, and this is what could drop him to the fifth-round for the Falcons. His 5.52 40-yard dash was third-last; his 17.50-inch vertical was the worst of all guards, as was his 84-inch broad jump.
Despite this, he is still a talented prospect who could develop into a solid offensive lineman for the Falcons.
Matias has potential and a high ceiling. Matias would be excellent value for the Falcons in the fifth-round and he could be a guard of the future for their offense with the right development.
