Terrance Knighton, Denver Broncos

Even if Terrance Knighton is just 28 years old he might not be a three-down player in the NFL. Nonetheless he’s one of the best run-stuffers in the entire league.

“Pot Roast” is one of the hot names in free agency now that Suh is off the market, as reported by Pro Football Talk, and the Colts are one them:

Knighton would anchor the middle of the Colts’ defensive line for several years to come: it’s also thanks to his powerful presence in the trenches that the Denver Broncos ranked second in the league in run defense last season, allowing just 79.8 yards per game.

After getting some help for the offensive line with the signing of Todd Herremans, I think it’s time for the Colts to look on the other side of the ball. Sign Knighton, put him on the field on first and second down and then unleash your pass rushers on third down.

2014 Regular season stats: 2 sacks, 19 tackles, 3 pass deflections.

2014 Playoffs: 1 tackle (1 game).
